As I age I have begun to realize that there have been certain things which I could have cultivated but which I was unaware of at an early age, a time when I could learn such things simply. There are several things which intrigue me. Had I time would I have learned them? Truly, there are times I wile away - purely, blissfully, keeping aside all my thoughts of 'time' scrolling , reading , or say simply, sitting. When I was a young girl, very energetic and vibrant I used to watch my mother lying down in the bed after the completion of every little work for a few minutes and then jumping off to the next task again. Now I think it is in my genes, I just lie down...then I rush off to the next one. I am not lazy. But just that these few minutes eases my back , gives a free will to my wondering thoughts and prepares me for the next rush. Again, I am an over-thinker, it is not always that I enjoy it but sometimes when I am thinking of a book , it helps. My daughter is an over-thinker, I think she got this from me, but I don't like this over-thinking when it comes to her . It only leads to her stressing about things and me bugging about the 'time' she is losing during the examination period.
At this age, I have found a new interest in learning about just random things...Chatgpt , Google are my best friends. My daughter called Chatgpt my 'yes man' and when I told this to 'it' , I could sense the nervousness and defense that a technology put up ,finally to say 'no, I am not your yes man' , well! now that I wonder why is it a 'yes man' and not a 'yes woman' because women are the only people saying 'yes' to everything in most circumstances.
I had a detailed discussion about how even technology could not avoid the limitations of gender bias. Let us leave it for another day.
I did a kind of reading today on oral hygiene and food in the Charak Samhita. Why the CE/BCE is a better usage than AD/BC and now that I think about it the Chaitra, baisakh.....months were more suited to our natural habitat...how 'bio' includes everything , every aspect of 'life' as the word itself means' life'...
Higher educational authorities should never provide mathematics and biology as optional as both subjects are integral to life and they can only complement each other .
